This voyage combines two outstanding locations: Canada’s wild and remote Baffin Island and the glaciated western coast of Greenland. We will explore deep fjords, immense icebergs and small coastal villages while encountering the special wildlife of the Arctic, including birdlife, marine mammals and polar bears.
This trip offers a special cultural dimension, with the opportunity to visit remote Inuit communities on Baffin Island and several colourful fishing towns in Greenland. Another highlight will be walking on the vast expanse of the Greenland ice cap, the world's second-largest ice sheet after Antarctica. Throughout the trip, our onboard experts educate us with a series of presentations on the environment, wildlife and history of the Arctic and the locations we plan to visit.
Artist in Residence David McEown will conduct workshops Inspired by the Arctic Landscape and you will explore watercolour’s magical flowing spontaneity and learn essential techniques as you paint directly from nature. Enhance your colour and spacial perception and way of “seeing” with this travel friendly medium.
