Online watercolour workshop with David McEown on Zoom

(This workshop is now fully booked. Please contact David to be added to a wait list in case of availability and upcoming workshops. Thanks for your interest!)

Inspired by mountain peaks, sub-alpine wildflowers, waterfalls and glacial lakes we will explore essential watercolour techniques and landscape lessons to capture the light, colour and compositional opportunities found in the mountain environment.

4 instructional sessions, 3 hours

Tuesday February 23,  12 - 3pm ET  (17:00 UTC) 2021
Tuesday March 02,       12 - 3pm ET  (17:00 UTC)
Tuesday March 09,       12 - 3pm ET   (17:00 UTC)
Tuesday March 16,       12 - 3pm EDT (16:00 UTC)

-       An additional 45 minute short introduction and Q/A session will be held Sunday February 21, 1 pm ET, (optional)

-        Final Critique of submitted paintings (optional), Tuesday March 23, 1pm EDT (16:00 UTC) (90 minutes)

Level - intermediate to advanced, also beginner with some experience in painting and drawing. (bonus access to “essential watercolour basics video” is included to enhance skills.)

- Small Class size of up to 18, allows for time to share and see participants paintings. (but never pressure to show artwork!) Reference material will be provided but one can certainly choose to use their own.

- Live entertaining split screen demonstrations plus video treats from David’s mountain experience. Various camera views from the demonstrations capture details we find in delicate wildflowers and blending techniques of mountains appearing through clouds.

- Access to a Video summary posted online after each lesson.

- Reviews of participants paintings by highlighter using photoshop tools from David’s Tablet.

An internet connection, microphone and camera-enabled computer or smartphone is required. This class will be delivered via the video conferencing app ZOOM which is free to download (you do not require a ZOOM account to participate). A link to access the class will be sent to you in advance.
